What is the Bulverde Area Rural Library?

The Bulverde library was first created in 1984. The library was created in response to the community’s need for a public library. In recent years, the library was renamed “Mammen Family Public Library” in response to a generous gift from the Mammen Family Foundation.

This library serves a 200-square-mile area of Comal County. The library’s vision is to provide access to educational resources and learning opportunities for all ages in a safe and welcoming space.

What are Some of the Services Offered at the Bulverde Library?

The staff is friendly and love to serve the community. They have everything from best-selling books, to classic fiction and non-fiction books. Patrons can check out DVDs/Videos, audiobooks, CD, and cassettes. Newspapers and periodicals are available in the library. If you are interested in digital downloads, digital resources, or audiobooks, you can access these using your MFPL card!

Mammen Family Public Library is always looking for ways to serve your family and the community. They host many events and services for children, such as storytimes, games, and movie nights. The library’s children’s section is colorful and inviting for all young readers.

For teens ages 13 and up, the library has exciting programs for them planned! They are also welcome to join some adult events. There are events for adults and older adults as well! For example, reading and writing workshops, needlecraft groups, and walking groups.

How Much Does it Cost to Use the Services at the Bulverde Library?

There is no fee to use the library’s services! Residents in Comal County should definitely take advantage of this extensive free resource of books, DVDs, and computers. When using computers, there is a small cost for printing, but there are no fees for the majority of the services offered.
This library is an integral part of the community for knowledge and gathering. It’ll feel like a second home with all of the community involvement and events they put together. The Mammen Family Public Library is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
